Les noms des chatons ont été choisis sur le thème de l'archipel du Svalbard (île du Spitzberg) situé à mi-chemin entre le Cap Nord (Norvège) et le point le plus septentrional du globe. En juillet 1993, mon mari, notre fille et moi y avons effectué un voyage. Nous avons parcouru en kayak, pendant 3 semaines et en autonomie totale, les fjords de la côte ouest (Crossfjord et Baie du Roi). Glaciers se jetant dans la mer, phoques barbus, oiseaux marins... sous une température moyenne de 5°C et un soleil 24 heures sur 24... un dépaysement total au milieu d'une nature encore préservée.

      The names of the kittens have been chosen among names of Svalbard, an archipelago situated halfway betwen North Cap (Norway) and the most northern point of the globe. In July 1993, my husband, our daughter and me effectuated there a journey. We travelled in kayak, during 3 weeks and in self-sufficiency, the fjords of the west coast (Crossfjord and King Bay). Glaciers flowing into the sea, bearded seals, sea birds... with a temperature average of 5°C and sunshine 24 hours a day ... a complete change of scene among a still preserved environment.
